Team Lead – Field Service Engineer, Critical Power

POSTED 2026.10.08Critical Power Company

COMPENSATION $115,000–$125,000 + bonus + benefits

Our client, a leading provider of mission-critical power services, is hiring an experienced Team Lead Field Service Engineer. You'll lead a two-person field team supporting UPS and critical power systems across South Florida, where uptime isn't negotiable.

What you'll own

  • Leading two Field Service Engineers — technical guidance, mentoring, scheduling support, and on-site direction
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance on UPS and critical power equipment
  • Commissioning, start-up, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of UPS systems, batteries, PDUs, STSs, and related equipment
  • Commissioning-focused design reviews, plus the testing procedures and reports behind them
  • Emergency service calls and critical customer outages
  • Equipment modifications, upgrades, and system replacements
  • Working with technical support to resolve complex maintenance and operational issues
  • Helping develop Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for critical power work
  • Detailed Field Service Reports, completed promptly after every customer visit
  • Proactive recommendations to customers on reliability, maintenance, and system improvements
  • Escalating unusual technical issues or field developments to management
  • Periodic technical training as required
  • A strong commitment to safety, customer service, and mission-critical uptime

What we're hunting for

  • Relevant field service experience required; 10+ years preferred
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and service of UPS systems, batteries, PDUs, STSs, and related critical power equipment
  • OEM factory training or significant experience with major manufacturers — Vertiv/Liebert/Emerson, APC/MGE/Schneider Electric, Eaton/Powerware, or PDI
  • Proficiency with hand tools, electrical test equipment, and diagnostic equipment
  • The ability to read equipment specifications, electrical documentation, and manufacturer procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A customer-service mindset
  • The judgment to work independently and make sound calls in the field
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends and take part in an on-call rotation
  • Ability to travel regionally and occasionally nationally
  • A clean driving record
  • Ability to do physical field work, including bending and lifting up to roughly 100 lbs

Preferred background

  • Prior experience with a third-party UPS or critical power service provider is highly desirable
  • A technical degree or training (e.g., DeVry, Lincoln Tech, or similar programs) is a plus
  • Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply — especially those with electrical, electronics, mechanical, or power-generation backgrounds, including Navy EMN/ETN/MMN, Army Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, Coast Guard technical specialties, or similar experience

Why this seat

You'll lead a team, not just a route — keeping the power on for facilities that can't afford a minute of downtime, with a leading name in critical power behind you.

Base salary of $115,000–$125,000 plus bonus and benefits.
